Easter earrings

Hi there

Well fooled around with beads yesterday, it's funny actually, when I have played around I always come back to the same technique I use. Right angle weave in some sort of variation.

To do this tutorial, you will be doing, right angle weave (R.A.W., triangle weave and picot)

I've used 4mm swarovski bicones, 4mm fire-polish, two different colors of TOHO seed beads size 11. ;) Of cause you need needle and thread. Theses beads are generous size to no need for thin needles a size 10 is my choice.

I use Nymo size B, if you want the earring to be less flexible, use fishingline, fireline og perhaps a thicker Nymo, I like them a little "flappy" ;)

 You start by picking up one 4mm purple bicone, a 11, a 4mm fire-polish, a size 11, a 4mm purple bicone and a size 11.

And then go through the first purple bicone. Be sure to leave a tail around 11,8 inches (30 cm)

 Pick up a size 11, a fire-polish, a size 11, a purple bicone and a size 11

And go through the purple bicone you got out of in the previous "round"

And it should look like this.

Go through the size 11, fire-polish, size 11 and the purple bicone

pick up a size 11, a purple bicone, a size 11, a fire-polish and a size 11 and go through the purple bicone from the previous "round"

Go through the size 11 and the purple bicone just added.

Add a size 11, a fire-polish, a size 11, a purple bicone and a size 11.

And go down through the purple bicone added in the previous "round"

Go through the 11, fire-polish, 11 and the purple bicone.

Do the same thing again. Add a size 11, a purple bicone, size 11, fire-polish, size 11 and go down the purple bicone added in the previous "round". Go up through the 11 and purple bicone.

You've almost completed the triangle weave flower/wheel. Pick up a size 11, a fire-polish and a size 11. Go through the purple bicone as shown in the picture.

 Like this

 Pick up a size 11

Go up through the purple bicone

Pull the thread to tighten up the flower. Now thread the tail. Go through the size 11, bicone, 11, and a fire-polish.

Pick up a size 11, a green bicone, 3 size 11, a green bicone and a size 11.

Go through the fire-polish.

Go up through the size 11, green bicone and the first size 11. Pull tight.

SKIP the second size 11 and go down the third size 11, the green bicone and the last size 11.

Weave the needle down the petals in the flower until you reach the bottom

 Like this. Now add a size 11, a green bicone, a size 11, a purple bicone, a size 11, a green bicone and a size 11.

Go through the fire-polish again, reinforce if necessary.

Weave the thread around in the flower, make a half hitched knot or two, then trim the thread.

 Thread your working thread again and pick up a size 11, a WHITE size 11, a size 11, a fire-polish and a size 11.

 Go up through the fire-polish

Through the 3 size 11 and the fire-polish.

 Pick up a size 11, a fire-polish, a size 11, a WHITE size 11 and a size 11.

 Go down the fire-polish.

Keep doing this until you reach the length you want.  I added 12 fire-polish. Pick up a size 11, a WHITE and a size 11

Go down the fire-polish from the flower.

Pick up a size 11 and follow the black line in the picture.

Weave through the flower to reach the other INNER side. ( I hope you can see what I tried to draw in paint LOL) Go through the first two size 11 without adding any beads.

 Pick up a size 11.

Go through the next size 11 and skip the next. Can you see the black dots? Skip in those spaces. Ad one seed bead in the other spaces.

When you reach the end, pull, but not too tight, weave through the earring, follow the black line. Exit in the UTTER line. Go through the first size 11

 Pick up 3 size 11

Skip the WHITE, and go down the size 11, and up through the next size 11.

Like this. Continue until you've added the picot fringe all the way around.

 There you go.

Here you can see them hanging. ;) And I've made a pair with pearls also, the same style.
